Seifer Almasy - When I first played through FF VIII, I couldn't stand him. I thought he was just a jerk who was blinded by his childhood dreams and the sorceress (notice: the statute of spoiler limitations has expired on this game). But at the very end of the game, when he was out fishing with Raijin and Fujin, my animosity towards him faded. The smile on his face looked so genuine, and he's been a favorite character of mine since.
Law & Order: SVU - I have an addiction between this show and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The cast is amazing, and the cases are handled extremely well considering the subject matter. And the added bonus of Richard Belzer helps, too.
Gravitation - I remember hearing about Gravitation several years back, so I was surprised that it was translated and brought over to the US. (I think I still have several eps fansubbed XD I still haven't watched 'em) So far, I've only read the main 12-vol. manga, and I really enjoyed it. Gotta love the music industry and crazy teenage executives with robo-pandas.
Astronomy - This has been a passion of mine on and off. I recently re-embraced it when the IAU demoted poor little Pluto as a planet. From there I've studied the planets' geology, chemistry, and possible biology. One of these days I really need to get myself a telescope.
X-men - Oh man, I've been into the X-Men forever. I grew up on comics, but the X-Men was one of the few that I didn't read until I was a teenager. I kept up for quite a while, but recently I've fallen out of the loop with the latest story arcs. I kind of know what's going on, but not the details. I will tell ya though, the X-Wank is SCARY.
clasic rock - I've been a long time fan of classic rock, probably since I was a toddler. My parents listened to it, so I got all the runoff. It also most likely paved the way for my love of metal and grunge music.
bartending - Towards the end of my senior year in high school, I enrolled in a bar class back in Houston. I learned the ways of mixing drinks, and while I didn't get a bar job in Texas, my skills did come in handy years later in Vegas. I love creating new drinks and giving them nerdy names, and yes, I like drinking them too.

Continuing to the next movie of the 2008 season, I give you Hellboy II: The Golden Army. No spoilers this time around as I'm making this review quick.
The visuals are stunning. Guillermo del Toro pulled out all the creative stops and used a lot of influence from his previous movie Pan's Labyrinth. The action is constant, the story flows well, and plenty of laughs. I need to re-watch the first Hellboy (also directed by del Toro), but so far, I think Hellboy II is much better.
In TV watching, I've gotten into two new shows. One being House (I blame my co-workers on this one) and the other is Little Mosque on the Prairie (Canadian TV is awesome). Both are great ways to kill 30-60 minutes.

I love the nightly chat. It was there that I came up with this booze recipe. It's probably been done, but it now has a cooler name.
Vizard
1 1/2 oz. Orange Vodka (Grey Goose preferred)
1 1/2 oz. Pomegranate liqueur
Twist of Lemon
Shake first two ingredients with ice and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with lemon twist.
Thank you,
areisama and your Shinji for inspiring this drink. <3

And the Banana is still going with her movieness. Last night was The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton as Bruce Banner and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross.
I won't stick this under spoilers as most of you already know the story of the Hulk. Well, that and I'm too lazy to spoil it this time around. Long story short, it starts off a bit slow, and then before you know it, BOOM! You have awesome action scenes, a showdown with Abomination (played surprisingly well by Tim Roth), and two appearances by special guest stars. And as always, Gen. Ross is a major asshole.
While it does trail directly behind the other Marvel hit Iron Man, the Hulk does hold its own very well. Go see it if you just want a good comic book popcorn movie, but it's a must-see if you're a comic book fiend like me.

This post is part of my 2008 movie-viewing season. Today's movie is Kung Fu Panda, starring Jack Black as Po, the snuggly, fat, panda protagonist.
( Review that includes spoilers as usual. )
Kung Fu Panda comes highly recommended by the Banana, and it's a fun that can be shared with the whole family and kung fu movie fans. If you have it in your area, go see it in IMAX. It's worth the extra few bucks.

I am on a movie-viewing ROLL! Today's review is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
This is easily one of the most anticipated movies of the summer. It's been what, almost 18 years since the last Indy movie, and while Harrison Ford has aged, his character still keeps on truckin'.

Now that I'm awake and coherent, I can give a full review and report on the Iron Man movie.
( Here thar be spoilers. Read at your own risk. )
All in all, it was a bit hokey in places, but a damn entertaining flick. As I said before, it was so worth seeing it twice in a row. Even the previews during both runs were slightly different. That said, The Happening made me go, "Whaaa...?"

Just got back from seeing Iron Man twice in a row and yes, it was worth it both times. A tip for those who want to see it, be sure to sit through the credits. There's a little easter egg at the end that's totally worth it.
